Prof. Wade is a consultant in neurological rehabilitation. Professor Wade has extensive experience and expertise in several other clinical areas, including head injury rehabilitation, management of multiple sclerosis and motor neurone disease, assessment of patients in the Permanent Vegetative State and the management of patients who have disability without any underlying disease.
Since 1994 he has edited the specialist journal Clinical Rehabilitation and is regularly invited to give lectures worldwide.
His research activities cover a wide area - he has published over 170 papers in peer reviewed journals on many different studies including twelve randomised controlled trials, studies on many measures of outcome, investigation of specific phenomena such as hysteria, and studies on the natural history of illness in disabling neurological conditions.
